Author Statistics

As my database grew, so did the number of authors in my author statistics list. By the time the full list topped two thousand authors, I knew I had to do something to shorten it or to at least reduce the size of the file that you had to download to read all of them!

The original list included a detailed breakdown of how many pieces of each type an author had published. This was rather redundant for those authors who had published only one piece. When my analysis showed me that seventy percent of authors contributing to the Neopian Times were ONLY published once, I decided to break the list into two pieces.

The original page now lists authors who have two or more pieces, and I am calling it "Repeatedly Published Authors". For the larger class of authors who are only published once, I created a simpler version of the table and am listing that as "Once Published Authors".

The remaining table of statistics that had been "squeezed in" at the bottom of that huge original listing is now on its own page. "Author Percentages by Pieces Published" tells you how many authors have published a certain number of pieces, and what percentage of the total number of authors that represents.

So check out whichever set of statistics interests you. Hey, check them all out!
