Read Story So Far

Into the Deep Catacombs...

Ah, hello there young neopet! I see you have come for a story. We have many stories here, many tales to be told and read. Look around at these shelves, and delve into as many books as you want. I guarantee there will always be more than you could possibly imagine.

Go on, don't be shy! Look, they're even divided by type of story. Over here, I have adventure stories. If you're looking for romance, try that shelf. Oh, and don't forget the biographies.

If you're looking for history, we have that, too. I'm afraid that much of our source material is in storage, but you can enter that through the side door over there.

Chosen Option: Check out the biographies

And who is this?

Biographies? What biographies?

You head for the back of the library, hunting down these stories of (hopefully famous) people. Sure enough, here's a shelf and it has the names of pets you recognize. There's the ubiquitous King Coltzan. Farther along are lesser known pets, some you recognize only from appearances in the Neopian Times.

And along the bottom shelf are a set of thick books that turn out to be biographies of just about every evil being in the "Gallery of Evil". You gingerly pull one or two out to check the titles. Yup, definitely evil.

You finally decide to pick out...

Chosen Option: Gah! You have to do a stupid report on John Lotterpaw...

Why did you get the lousiest person do a report on!

You would have preferred spending time by the Chocolate Factory with your friends collecting candy. But no, Mr. Specklesup, your teacher, had to assign this report. Other people got exciting subjects like Fyora and Brucey B, but you're stuck with some stuffy neopet who died two hundred years ago.

You search the shelf, and find one old, dusty copy of "John Lotterpaw : The Lupe Who Wrote Dictionaries". As you read the first page you find it extremely dull and dry.

When you imagine what torture doing the assignment is, you consider leaving the library and taking an "F" on the assignment. Should you, or should you not, and what will you tell your parents?

Chosen Option: Make it up!

Heh heh heh...

What are the cbances Mr. Specklesup knows who John Lotterpaw is anymore than you do? Afterall, he just pulls out random assignments from that dumb teacher's handbook. Making it up will definately be more interesting.

Once upon a time there was a little lupe puppy in the Lotterpaw family. It was during a nice October morning that he spoke his first word - 'mama'. Little did he know it was the beggining of a life-long career...

You're having fun already! Let's see what to put in the childhood-

In fact, young John was very slow with learning words. But when he did discover the meaning on one, he would be in a delight over it for days. Yet by the time he was old enough to go to school, he couldn't speak nearly as well as the other kids. He was teased and harassed by them because he was different, and in their eyes stupid. It is not a conisidence that the only words John Lotterpaw learned in kindergarden were 'dumbo', 'no-tail', and other negative terms.

You are really getting involved in your own version of John Lotterpaw. In fact, you feel like you might just be living in his shoes right now...

Chosen Option: Uh oh... you ARE!

You're in trouble...

New Identity!!!

Species: Lupe

Color: Yellow

Gender: Male

You look around the room. How did you get here? Then you look down. Oh no! You've BECOME John Lotterpaw! Your own version too! A small cloud lupess comes over to you.

"Could you help me with this problem I am trying to solve?" the lupess asked. She was obviously very talented with communication for a kindergardener.

"Dumbo," was all you could say. Wait, why did you say that? She only asked for help! The lupess runs off, crying. The teacher looks up and... assuming it was you, calls you up to the front. You lower your head and do so.

"Why did you say that to Sally Londer?" the teacher asks you sternly.

"Brain melt," you blurt out. Wait! You have control of the character! You can do anything you want with John Lotterpaw!

"Now John! That was not nice either! I'm afraid I'm going to have to give you a detention for a week!"

Great! You got John into trouble!

"And for your detention, you must..."
